The following application rates are intended for general container greenhouse production and nursery stock growing conditions. Product and rate selection should always be based on individual grower practices and environmental conditions. Some factors that influence selection include:

Application Rates: The application rates listed are intended as a guideline in developing a routine program to grow blue flowered hydrangeas. Effective rates will depend on many factors including: crop condition, growing environment, cultivar type, timing of application, rate, root zone pH, fertilizer program and growing media. These rates may or may not apply to your area or growing conditions. It is the responsibility of the grower to determine the appropriate rate. Your rate may be higher or lower than suggested based on your growing conditions.
Apply product in the spring as soon as plants break dormancy or during any period of flower development. Broadcast product uniformly over soil surface. Avoid piling product against leaves and stems. Water in immediately after application.
Use lower rates for: freshly potted plants, high peat-based media,
lower root zone pH’s (< 6.0), low P fertilizer program,subirrigation,
other Al treatments.
Use higher rates for: older established plants, high bark media,
higher root zone pH’s (> 6.0), higher P fertilizer program.
100% coated to limit exposure to overdoses; minimizes root burn.
