Advantages
  • Select QuicK-Mg is a high-grade, free-flowing fertilizer, with attractive white crystalline appearance
  • Select QuicK-Mg has a high solubility of 620-750 g/L at ambient temperatures of 10-30 0C, respectively. The product quickly dissolves to a clear solution
  • Considering its high contents of nutritive cations, Select QuicK-Mg is a relatively inexpensive specialty fertilizer
  • Select QuicK-Mg has an almost neutral pH of 6.8 at 1% solution
Description
  • Select QuicK-Mg contains two major cationic nutrients. Potassium (K) is a macro-nutrient, generally found in plants' tissues at 2-4% of the plant's dry matter, while magnesium (Mg) is a secondary-nutrient, hence, generally found in plants' tissues at 0.3-0.9% of the plant's dry matter.
  • Select QuicK-Mg is completely and rapidly dissolved in water, so whether it is applied by fertigation, or by broadcasting or side dressing, and dissolved by irrigation water or by rainfall, it will immediately (minutes) become available to plant roots.
  • When dissolved in water for the preparation of stock solution, Select QuicK-Mg does not have an endothermic reaction, so a full-strength solution can be obtained immediately.
  • Potassium and magnesium cations also form an important part of soils' cation exchange capacity (CEC). These cations are generally adsorbed to the surfaces of clay minerals layers, which helps them be slowly released and become available to plants roots. Therefore, abundant application of Select QuicK-Mg can increase soils fertility, and use as a storage form of these cations, whenever needed by the crops.
  • As it is compatible with the majority of other fertilizers (i.e. nitrogen, potassium, calcium, and at specific situations- also phosphorus), Select QuicK-Mg can serve as one of the building blocks of most crops' mineral nutrition programs. It is highly recommended, for example, to apply it simultaneously with Select KCl 0-0-61, at a ratio of 1 : 1.2 (w/w) of Select QuicK-Mg : Select KCl. This blend will have a beneficial ratio of 6.7 : 1 w/w of K+ : Mg+2, which reflects the ideal ratio between these cations within the plants cells. Markedly higher K share may considerably reduce Mg uptake by plant roots.
  • Select QuicK-Mg has a neutral pH value (pH=6.8 @ solution concentration of 1% w/w), furthermore, its constituents do not pass any oxidation or reduction processes, so it will not change the current soil properties, even if it is applied frequently or for lengthy periods of time.
  • The following soil conditions may react best to applying Select QuicK-Mg:

  1. Acid soils with low pH (< 5.8), in which excessive hydrogen and aluminum may decrease Mg availability and uptake.
  2. Alkaline soils with high pH (>7.4), or calcareous ones, or heavily limed soils, in which excessive calcium may compete with, and reduce Mg uptake by plants.
  3. Sandy soils with low CEC, which have low Mg supplying capacity.
Directions for use

If in doubt when using Select KCl products it’s advised to do a small trial before starting to use Select KCl at full scale. Contact Everris or your professional advisor for specific advice and recommendations.

Select QuicK-Mg is a double salt of potassium/magnesium chloride. Both cations (i.e. potassium and magnesium) are highly important in all crops' mineral nutrition, and form an important part of soils' cation exchange capacity (CEC). It can be easily and quickly taken up by the plant roots due to its complete and rapid solubility.
