Our new mixing site and facility at Cúil na Móna, in Portlaoise, is fully operational supplying growers and plant propagators across the country with Levington Advance sustainable growing media - manufactured here in Ireland.  Increasing numbers of growers are reconnecting with this site, embarking on a new journey with ICL to transition to sustainable growing media.

While already supplying bespoke mixes in probale, bulk bags and bulk formats, as from the autumn we will be stocking the full range of Levington Advance standard products in 75L bags. More details to follow in the next issue of Technical Matters.

Welcome return of GLAS Ireland

We were delighted to see many of you at GLAS Ireland, in Dublin last month.  After a three-year hiatus, it provided a welcome opportunity to showcase our Levington Advance range of sustainable growing media and our innovative range of Osmocote controlled release fertilizers.

Four Oaks Trade Show 4-5 September

If you’re attending the UK’s Four Oaks Trade Show in September, be sure to come and see us - stand B30 - B32!   This annual international event for the whole of commercial horticulture is well worth a visit and there is a free shuttle service supplied from Manchester International Airport.

I’ll be joined there by my colleagues Andrew Wilson - technical manager for professional horticulture and Stuart Gammage - technical manager for growing media, to discuss transitioning to peat-reduced and peat-free growing and how the latest Osmocote products and H2Gro can help you optimise plant quality.

Hort Science Live coming to Ireland!

I’m delighted to announce ICL’s hugely popular Hort Science Live event is coming to Ireland for the first time this autumn. Due to be held in the Dublin area this autumn!

With the major emphasis on sustainability, our UK and Ireland technical teams will run a series of workstations exploring topics including the future of sustainable growing media, how to transition to peat free and manage peat alternatives as well as reducing peat without compromising on quality.

We will be releasing more information and confirmation of the venue in the coming weeks.
