Description

Thermal Blue is a medium textured leaf grass that is slow growing. It has aggressive rhizomes and a compact yet spreading growth habit. It delivers a highly uniformed, dense, medium green turf that even performs well in shade.

Thermal Blue has a natural spreading effect which makes for great repair from drought or machine damage. It also shows good resistance to various diseases like brown patch, stem rust and many more.

Directions for Use

Establishment and maintenance
For best turf results, seed in early fall or spring at 10 – 15 gr/m2. Make sure to keep seedbed moist throughout germination and establishment.

Germination will begin within 14 – 21 days during optimal temperatures (12° - 26°C). Full coverage will take approximately 8 – 10 weeks. Before cutting for the first time, make sure the turf has reached at least 5cm.

Established maintenance
Best results occur when fertilized at an annual rate of 15 – 20 gr/m2 of Nitrogen. Irregular irrigation patterns are recommended. In absence of rain, make sure to irrigate lightly and frequently. ICL recommends a cutting height of 12 – 50mm.

Thermal Blue is a hybrid Kentucky Bluegrass and ideal for: sports fields, recreational turf or for combining with Tall fescue / Perennial ryegrass. It is part of ICL Cold, Drought, and Shade tolerance programs as well as the Visual Merit program.
