With a reputation for producing top quality wholesale hardy nursery stock for the amenity, landscaping and retail sectors, Wyevale Nurseries produces 1.4 million plants annually on 16ha of its 32ha site at Kings Acre, in Hereford. 

Director Steve Reed has put his trust in Osmocote for over 30 years. Having tried other products, he remains convinced by its superior quality and reliability.

The propagation team currently relies on Osmocote Exact Hi.End with 12-14month longevity, and for the main potting uses Osmocote Exact 5-6 month for lavender crops, 8-9month for herbaceous crops and 12-14month for overwintered shrubs.

“We are extremely happy with plant quality,” says Steve Reed.  “We grow over 700 lines and Osmocote performs well across the board.

“Osmocote makes life easier.  Less labour intensive, we know the correct nutrients are being supplied to each crop freeing up the team to concentrate on other areas of production. Colour-coded prills make it easy to see at a glance which longevity is in the mix.

“The end result is a highly uniform crop – the more homogeneity the better for sales purposes.
