Original Osmocote 14-14-14 introduced with resin coating, ensuring that one application of nutrients would last for a long period of time; was the start of a new principle of fertilizer application. Sierra Chemical Company established Osmocote resin coating and Agriform® Planting Tablets now under same umbrella.

The Scotts Company acquired Grace-Sierra, and Osmocote became a regular participant in rigorous field-testing at the company's R&D facilities in Florida, Texas, California, Ohio and Oregon. It also ushered in an era of unprecedented side-by-side plant trials in both cooperative nursery and university programs.
Osmocote Plus introduced. The controlled release of N-P-K and micronutrients in a homogeneous prill created an entirely new class of Patterned Nutrient Release products that better matched the feeding habits of different plant species.

E-Max coated urea and Blue Max coated aluminum sulfate introduced. These technologies were developed to complement and expand the Osmocote portfolio by providing additional options.
Everris renamed ICL Specialty Fertilizers. This change reflects the strength of a global organization to drive future research, development and support of the Osmocote brand around the world. Osmocote iron and Osmocote CalMag are introduced.
