The ICL autumn crop solutions range now features the new Osmocote Exact High K, using the latest Double Coating Technology (DCT) to optimise the release of potassium, plus three new Bord na Móna Irish baled peat own mixing solutions.

For growers looking for a ready mixed solution, ICL’s four Levington Advance Solution autumn mixes ensure the perfect blend of growing media, Osmocote, Micromax, H2Gro and, where appropriate, plant protection products.  New for 2017, the summer pansy and Primula mix and the Cyclamen mix both benefits from the new Osmocote Exact High K.  

“Employing ICL’s latest DCT, the new Osmocote Exact High K releases potassium faster, producing even better results in terms of optimising EC and producing compact plants with excellent leaf shine and colour,” says Andrew Wilson, ICL technical manager.      

Carefully blended from professionally graded raw materials – peat, pine bark and perlite – each mix is tailored to particular crop’s needs with an open structure aiding root aeration for strong healthy growth. 

 “Having resumed the UK marketing of the world renowned Bord na Móna brand, our new own mixing solutions incorporate straight Irish baled peat with the best of ICL products to optimise results for short and medium terms crops as well as pot bedding,” explains Andrew Wilson. “They are being marketed alongside our established ready mixed Levington Advance Autumn Crop Solutions range.

“For all three Bord na Móna autumn mixes we suggest growers add the Micromax Premium trace element package, H2Gro to aid water management and lime - at 3.25kg per m3 for a pH range of 5.3-5.7. 

“In addition − to maintain nutrient availability throughout the growing season − for short-term autumn primula and pansy crops we recommend adding Osmocote Start; for medium-term bedding crops for the spring, Osmocote Bloom. 

“For the Bord na Móna autumn pot bedding mix, for crops such as Cyclamen and Poinsettias, we recommend our new improved Osmocote Exact High K (5-6 month). In addition, the biofungicide Prestop to help control damping-off, root and base rot diseases and, where appropriate, the contact and systemic insecticide Exemptor.”
