Time is running out for UK growers to place final orders for Exemptor (Thiacloprid) ready incorporated into growing media mixes, warns ICL.
“With the exception of Ireland, growers can no longer purchase Exemptor to self-incorporate into growing media,” explains Martin Donnelly, ICL Sales Development Manager. “However, up until 22 January they can place orders for Exemptor incorporated in to Levington Advance Solutions or Sustain growing media mixes - with last delivery by 29 January.
“This 22 January cut-off date may differ depending on the growing media manufacturer – so we urge growers to check with their supplier well in advance.
“It is important to bear in mind that all orders for ready-incorporated Exemptor will be dependent on availability of stock - so where possible plan ahead. All end users will have a final deadline of 3 February 2021 for disposal, storage and use.
“With Exemptor gone, all UK growers will have to embrace an IPM approach to controlling vine weevil,” says Martin. “Centering on beneficial nematode products, such as our Vine Weevil Seeka range, ICL is committed to helping growers optimise control of this potentially devastating pest. Last year we launched our new penetrant, Transporter - helping to optimise nematode performance. This year we unveiled our new award-winning biorational pesticide Pitcher - which uniquely targets vine weevil eggs and early instar stages.”
