Rubicus has a bunch-type growth habit with very fine blade width / low upright growth. Forms a uniform turf, with dark dense colour and performs well in a wide range of well-drained soil types of pH range 5.5 - 8.0

Description

Rubicus is a newly listed chewings fescue which is at home under intensively managed or low maintenance areas. Rubicus possesses an excellent visual appearance even within stressed conditions such as shade and summer drought. Rubicus is an excellent component for any fine turf area as well as sod mixtures where top end seed cleanliness is required.

Establishment and Maintenance

• Seed at 20 - 30 gr/m²
• Keep seedbed moist during germination and establishment
• Expect germination in 7 -14 days at minimum soil temperature of 12° C, with full coverage expected in 6 - 8 weeks
• Mow when turf reaches 5 cm

Established Turf Maintenance

• For best results, fertilise at annual rate of 10 - 15 gr/m² of nitrogen
• Irrigate deeply and infrequently in absence of rainfall; more lightly and frequently for over-seeded turf
• Mow at 0.5 - 6 cm or leave unmown; mow at 5 - 8 cm in shade
